Condition Monitoring with DSC Sensors |
| |
Balluff:
Proactive maintenance offers enormous potential for cost savings.
Equipment and machines having this feature provide significant
competitive advantages. Reliable function diagnostics is especially
important in high-dynamic machines, used for example in the printing and
paper industry and in cigarette manufacturing. With their Dynamic Sensor
Control (DSC), sensor specialist and networking provider Balluff offers
a completely new and cost-effective way to detect quality deviations in
the manufacturing process in real time indirectly through the sensors.
Here Balluff boasts not only a complete portfolio of capacitive,
photoelectric and inductive sensors, but also the matching full range of
connectivity and networking products. With Dynamic Sensor Control the
value of a machine design can be significantly increased, since the user
profits from greater up-time, simpler startup and more efficient
maintenance. This is made possible through DSC-compatible sensors, a
special Balluff version of already proven standard binary sensors which
can output not only the switching and an error signal, but also warning
and trend messages. The increasing contamination of a photoelectric
sensor, wandering of a target in the direction of the inductive sensor ... |

Baumer Miniature sensors - Small,
lightweight and precise |
| |
For
applications in restricted space, Baumer offers the most diverse
miniature sensors for convincing and precise solutions. The small IWRM
04 distance-measuring inductive sensors, with a diameter of 4 mm and a
housing length of only 30 mm, are the most compact inductive analog
sensors on the market. With a short response time of 0,5 ms and the high
resolution of 1 μm, they are without equal in this size class. The FHDK
04 optical miniature sensor provides a compelling argument with very
high efficiency background suppression. The Baumer developers were able
to accommodate this sensor in a housing measuring only 4 x 6 x 45 mm.
With a bracket for profiles and only one groove plate, this sensor can
be secured in any commercially available extrusion frame. Several
sensors may be operated next to one another without any mutual optical
interference. In addition, the IO-Link communications standard is
supported. Ultrasonic sensors ... |

IO-Link sensors - innovation with true
value added! |
| |
Baumer
Electric: IO-Link is the new standard in the lower communication
layer supported by leading automation and sensor manufacturers. An
IO-Link sensor transmits standard digital or analog output signals and
provides an additional serial data communication with the control unit
as master to exchange parameters such as the measuring range,
sensitivity, time delay and operating mode. Because the serial data
transmission needs no additional wires and the output signals are
compatible, it is possible to use standard cables and connectors and
combine or mix IO-Link devices and standard devices. This advantage
simplifies the entry, realization and use of this new and easy
technology. Baumer offers now an expanded range of IO-Link products.
From the smallest optical switches up to ultrasonic and inductive
distance sensors, a wide variety of technologies and devices is
available. ... |

Differential Inductive Position Sensor |
| |
POSIC
introduces the differential inductive position sensor IS2201. The sensor
measures only 6.2 x 8.6 mm with a thickness of 0.9 mm and has a
differential analog output signal. The bandwidth is 40 kHz at an airgap
up to 1.5 mm. Targets can be made of ferromagnetic or electrically
conducting materials like steel, copper, aluminum and brass. The sensor
detects a lateral movement in front of the sensor-face, e.g. a gear or
slotted disc for speed control, a single tooth for index- or
stop-position or for short-range linear measurement. Typical
applications are in the automation, mechatronics and motion-control
domains for measurement of speed, stop-position or short-range linear
position. Markets served include industrial, automotive, robotics,
medical, instrumentation, laboratory automation, office equipment.

Tightly packed distance measurement |
| |
Baumer
Electric: Often there is only very limited space available for
sensors and actuators in apparatuses and mobile devices. The new
distance measuring Series IWFM 08 inductive sensors address exactly
these applications. With their compact outer dimension of only 4.7 x 8 x
16 mm they fit into the tiniest slots. Thanks to the integrated 0… 10 V
output, the sensor can be connected directly to the analog inputs of a
control system, without using a measuring board or processing unit. The
resulting reduction of hardware and installation costs are obvious.
Another attribute that characterizes the IWFM 08 is its robustness. The
metal housing prevents damage during installation or operations to a
large extent, which positively influences the maintenance costs in the
long term. Due to the high linearity and repeat accuracy, the IWFM 08
records linear movements of up to 2 mm with high precision. The
described characteristics have already proved to be of value with
existing Baumer sensors used in robotic grippers, operating ... |
