AS-i Safety Monitor with Muting functions |
| |
The
ASM2E AS-i Safety Monitor was successfully launched this year. The
Muting function long awaited by the market and users alike, has now been
added to the E-variants of Leuze electronic’s ASM Safety
Monitors. The Leuze electronic ASM2E Safety Monitor allows safety-set
AS-i actuators to be monitored and safely stopped as an actuator group.
The direct coupling with a second AS-i network for cross-section
emergency stop applications is particularly cost-effective. All Leuze
electronic ASM Safety Monitors comply with Category 4 and Performance
Level PLe in acc. with EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL 3 in acc. with IEC/EN
61508. The E-variants of the ASM1 and ASM2 Safety Monitors also boast an
additional new functionality: both the ASM1E-m and the ASM2E-m are
equipped with selectable Muting functions (2-sensor Parallel, 4-sensor
Sequential). They therefore enable the time-monitored bridging of the
protective device during the material transport, without any process
interruptions. Several Muting areas can be set up with just one AS-i
Safety Monitor. ... |

WIKA showcases its high-pressure
controller with supreme features at Interkama |
| |
Very
high specifications of precision, reliability and control stability are
satisfied by the new, patented CPC8000-H high-pressure controller,
showcased by WIKA at Interkama 2008. Thanks to its concept, to
date unrivalled on the market, this instrument works extremely quickly
and is very user-friendly. At its heart there is a pneumatic pressure
control unit, which directly controls a pneumatic/hydraulic intensifier,
as a closed loop with measurements by a high pressure precision sensor.
Thereby it is guaranteed that pressures up to 1600 bar can quickly be
controlled and held with a stability of 0.003 %. It can expertly cope
with large connected test volumes of up to 1000 ccm. Through its high
accuracy of 0.01%, the new CPC8000-H is especially suited as a
factory/working standard, for example, in transmitter production or for
the verification and/or calibration of all types of high-pressure
measuring instruments. As a result of its robustness, further typical
areas of application are in autofrettage or long-term, cyclic pressure
loading tests. For these, the pressure medium can be selected to be
either water or hydraulic oil. ... |

JUMO ecoTRANS pH03 New rail-mounted
transmitter for pH, redox (ORP) and temperature with relay contact |
| |
With
the ecoTRANS pH03, a device of the successful JUMO rail-mounted
measuring series “ecoTRANS”, there is now a device for pH and / or redox
(ORP) as well as for conductivity or ultra pure water and / or TDS
available in the same device design. The ecoTRANS pH03 can be used in
connection with commercially available pH or redox single rod measuring
chains and an optional Pt100 or Pt1000 resistance thermometer for
temperature compensation. The measured pH-value and/or the fitting redox
potential as well as the temperature can be passed on to PLC or
recording instrument as an industrial standard signal 0/4…20mA and/or
0/2…10V. The standard signal emissions are galvanically separated from
the measuring input. The span can be freely programmed (pH:
–2.00...+16.00pH; redox: –1500…+1500mV; temperature: –10…+150°C). The
temperature display can be converted from °C to °F, which increases the
acceptance of the device e.g. in America and Asia. ... |

Even the smallest parts reliably
inspected by In-Sight vision - Accurate part reading using
high-performance vision |
| |
Cognex:
With the overriding market trend for smaller products across many
industry sectors, companies are obliged to review and redesign their
products on a regular basis. Particularly relevant for devices such as
mobile phones and Personal Navigation Devices (PND), the demand for more
compact units is continually on the increase. This was the situation for
Sarantel Ltd which develops and manufactures the world’s most advanced
miniature filtering antennas for mobile, wireless and handheld devices.
Changes in the required size of antennas have led the company to invest
in a vision system which could offer higher resolution capability. The
challenge: The main issue with the original vision system was lack of
flexibility within the program and with the size of the product
ever-decreasing, the sensor’s ability to identify filters and pattern
matches was being compromised. Searching for a resolution: Sarantel
began looking for a new vision sensor which would accurately read the
required patterns and investing half a day in a vision seminar ... |

Precision pressure measuring instrument
in hand-held format |
| |
At
Interkama 2008, WIKA is introducing a precision pressure
measuring instrument in a hand-held format for mobile applications: The
new CPH6400 is ideally suited to assist in measurement, test and
calibration in changing locations. The CPH6400 from WIKA brings together
the mobility and flexibility of a hand-held with the precision of a
laboratory calibration instrument. Its large, easily-readable display,
its robust design and its uncomplicated operation are impressive. A wide
spectrum of measuring ranges, from -1 to 4000 bar, with an accuracy of
up to 0.025%, are available for a multitude of application solutions.
The individual sensors can be interchanged quickly and without tools,
and are automatically recognised by the CPH6400 (Plug&Play). Beyond
mobile and extremely accurate pressure measurement, the CPH6400 offers
additional functions: For example, it enables pressure curves to be
recorded, peak values to be captured or leak tests ... |

Monitoring Sensor with Ground Isolation
and Current Output |
| |
In
large engines, there are often distances of up to 30 meters between the
location of the combustion pressure sensor and the evaluation
electronics. If both the sensor and the evaluation electronics are
connected to ground, high ground loop currents can flow between these
two grounding points. As a result, the analog output signal of the
sensor will be super-imposed with strong interference signals. To solve
this problem, Kistler is now offering a ground-insulated
monitoring sensor: the inner part of the sensor Type 6353A24 is
electrically insulated from the sensor case. There is no electrical
contact between the charge amplifier case and the engine either. This
ground insulated construction prevents ground loops between the sensor
and the electronic units connected to it. An additional adaptation to
the industrial environment is a current output allowing the cylinder
pressure signal to be transmitted over large distances free of
interference. ... |

High Sensitivity, High G Shock Triaxial
DC Response Accelerometer for NVH, Brake Deceleration Compliance,
Vehicle Durability and Roll Stiffness/Static Rollover Testing |
| |
The
Automotive Sensors division of PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) has
announced the debut of a series of high sensitivity, DC response
triaxial accelerometers, ideal for a variety of NVH and vehicle
durability measurements in automotive and off-highway applications.
Accelerometers are well-suited for brake deceleration compliance
certification; vehicle radiator and air cooler durability testing; roll
stiffness/static rollover threshold tests; vehicle and component test
chamber instrumentation; and NVH and multi-axis motion test platforms,
among others. Series 3713 triaxial DC response accelerometer is gas
damped, and provides micro g resolution and ±5,000 g pk (49,033 m/s2 pk)
shock survivability. Several full-scale acceleration ranges are
available from 3 to 200 g, with frequency response from DC to 1,500 Hz
(±10%). The sensor, a 1-inch (28mm) cube in a welded titanium case
design, incorporates built-in conditioning electronics which provide
amplification to the sensing elements and temperature compensated
output, with choice of hermetic connector or integral cable. ... |
