Miniature MEMS High Amplitude 20,000 g
Shock Accelerometers for Aerospace & Defense and Extreme Test &
Measurement Applications |
| |
Depew,
NY, USA – The Aerospace & Defense division of PCB Piezotronics
(PCB®) has announced the launch of Series 3991 & 3993, a family of MEMS-based,
miniature high amplitude 20,000 g shock accelerometers, which are among
the industry’s smallest. Series 3991 & 3993 MEMS-based miniature high
amplitude shock accelerometers, available in both single axis and
triaxial configurations, represent the state-of-the-art for miniature,
high-amplitude, DC response acceleration sensors, capable of measuring
long duration transient motion, as well as responding to and surviving
extremely fast rise times, typical of a high-g shock event. Several
configurations are offered to fulfill a variety of installation
requirements, with a standard footprint that is a drop-in replacement
for competitive models. Each style shares the same air-damped
acceleration sensing element, which is micromachined from silicon using
the latest advances in ... |

M5 Piezoresistive High-Temperature Sensor
Type 4007B… |
| |
Kistler:
The M5 piezoresistive pressure sensor, Type 4007B..., is designed for
measuring absolute pressures in engines at operating temperatures from
–40 to 200 °C. As a direct chip exposure (DCE) sensor with no protective
steel diaphragm it is directly exposed to the medium. The piezoresistive
silicon measuring element is positioned behind a shield and protected by
a coating. A special coating makes the sensor resistant to typical fuels
and lubricating oils. Its compactness allows a high degree of mounting
flexibility that always facilitates ideal positioning for measurements
in the inlet passages. In addition to its small size this design offers
excellent linearity, low hysteresis and a high natural frequency. The
optional digital temperature compensation system can be used to further
reduce the effect of temperature on pressure measurement. ... |

3-channel DC Sensor Signal Conditioner
for New Series 3991/3993 High Amplitude 20,000 g MEMS Shock
Accelerometers |
| |
Automatic
Zero Adjustment Capability Eliminates Sensor’s Inherent DC Offset
Voltage: Depew, NY, USA – PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) has introduced
Model 478A30, a 3-channel DC sensor signal conditioner with selectable
gain. This model is designed to be compatible with new Series 3991/3993
high amplitude 20,000 g MEMS DC response shock accelerometers, and
providing the end user with a MEMS-based high-g shock measurement
system, with frequency range from DC to 150k Hz. The significant feature
of this device is its automatic zero adjustment capability for
elimination of a sensor’s inherent DC offset voltage. Model 478A30
features three independent operating channels with individual excitation
voltage, selectable excitation voltage levels from 0-14 VDC;
differential output and gain adjustment from 0 to 999.9, as well as BNC
output connectors, for easy hookup to readout and recording instruments.
The unit may also be used with Series 3741 DC response accelerometers. ... |

The SiSteMa software supports the user
with safety-related calculations in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 |
| |
The
SiSteMa safety engineering software is provided to the user as freeware
by BGIA (German Institute for Occupational Health and Safety). Leuze
electronic has supplemented the software with a manufacturer-specific
database with all the safety-related parameters of selected Leuze safety
sensors and control modules that SisteMa requires. The SiSteMa program
version with the Leuze Component Library (in German and English) can be
downloaded free of charge at www.leuze.com/sistema. SiSteMa is a BGIA-developed
PC software for calculating and evaluating the safety of machine
safety-related control systems (SRP/CS) within the scope of EN ISO
13849-1. On the basis of the control architectures specified in section
6 of this standard, the program enables automated calculation of the
reliability values and the achieved performance ... |

ED753 – Compact Depth Gauge Offers Good
Value for Money |
| |
With
the hydrostatic pressure transmitter ED753, Baumer’s product
segment Process Instrumentation launches a very compact depth gauge with
an excellent value for money. Like his bigger brother ED752, the ED753
is a piezo-resistive pressure transmitter with a stainless steel housing
and therefore very resistant against aggressive substances. However,
since the device is thinner and shorter, it is suitable especially for
applications with very limited space and fits in 1” pipes often used for
the guiding and protection of transmitters. As the youngest member of
the family, the ED753 is provided with all the advantages of the ED75X
series. The housing has been designed according to protection class IP
68. The ventilation is realised by a tube integrated in the cable,
enabling the measuring device to adjust to the ambient pressure. ... |

QuantumX now works with customized user
applications |
| |
HBM
has released a powerful new interface for its QuantumX universal
amplifier so that users can programme functions with their own
customized set ups if needed. Called API, the interface provides full
access to all QuantumX functions and works in addition to QuantumX
Assistant, catman®Easy, catman®AP and LabView. API is used with
programming libraries in .NET or COM technology. The libraries enable
customized applications to be programmed in different languages, for
example Visual Basic, C++, C# or Delphi. The libraries also include
functions such as establishing communication links, configuring the
channels for measurement, taking measurements and debugging. Each of the
eight universal connectors provided by QuantumX supports common
transducer technologies at a resolution of 24 bits. ... |

ZMD Standardizes on Verigy V93000 SOC
Series for Wafer Sort and Final Test of High-Performance
Mission-Critical Devices |
| |
|
Verigy (NASDAQ: VRGY), a leading semiconductor test company, today
announced that ZMD AG has standardized on the V93000 SOC Series
for wafer sort and final test of its high-end, mission-critical signal
conditioning devices. ZMD is a leading global supplier of analog and
mixed-signal solutions for automotive, industrial, medical, and consumer
applications. ZMD has added incremental V93000 capacity to its test
floor for dedicated, highly parallel wafer sort – testing 16 devices
simultaneously. The unique parallel test capability of the V93000
optimizes ZMD’s cost-of-test (CoT). “We have been using the V93000 for
four years now, and as a result of that experience, we have tremendous
confidence in Verigy solutions as well as in Verigy support,” said Ralf
Petzoldt, Test Manager at ZMD. “The V93000 is the only tester available
that addresses our cost-of-test needs with parallel test at wafer sort.
In reference to the ITRS(1), we achieve a mixed-signal wafer multi-site
efficiency of 91 percent with the V93000.” ... |
