the sks-sensor, microsonic has established an ultrasonic sensor
innovation that proofs the fact: Flexible settable and high quality
ultrasonic sensors don’t need much space! With a size of only 33x16x12mm
this sensor can be used in very compact applications. With a single push
button one can choose three different operating modes: Single detecting
point, window mode or two-way reflective barrier. Within the maximum
detecting range of up to 250mm the pnp switched output can be set with a
simple tech-in procedure. Due to it’s internal temperature compensation
and a high resolution of 0.10mm the sks-sensor can be used for precise
measurement. With the extremely narrow sound field it can focus on the
target without problems caused by objects that are close to detecting

Torque Sensor with Two Measuring Ranges |

 Kistler’s
torque sensors of type 4503A… can measure both peak and average
operating torques with a high degree of accuracy. Extreme ratios of high
peak to moderate operating torque arise, for example, during starting
and abrupt deceleration or braking of presses and elevators. Torsional
vibration encountered in combustion engines, pumps and compressors,
etc., also often leads to unwanted peak loads. To prevent such effects
causing overloads, conventional sensors therefore have to be designed to
withstand the peak. However, the signal resolution available for the
much smaller actual operating torques is then frequently insufficient
for accurate measurement. The dual-range sensor offers the ideal
solution. It is sufficiently robust to withstand and measure peak values
without damage, yet its second range offers sufficient resolution for
accurate recording of even the small operating torques. ... |

Edge sensors are required for web control to detect the edge of the web
material and maintain it on the correct lateral position. With materials
such as highly transparent foils, light-sensitive materials, materials
with greatly varying transparency and paper subject to high paper dust
loads, ultrasonic solutions offer considerable advantages over the
optical measuring principle. The web material covers the receiver more
or less consistently. Depending on the coverage degree, the electronics
issue an analogue signal of 4-20 mA. The bks edge sensor delivers the
analogue signal with a resolution of 0.025 mm and has an operating range
of 6 mm. The manufacturer specifies an accuracy of ± 0.1 mm for constant
ambient conditions. The sensor’s very compact design with a fork width
of only 30 mm and a depth of 33 mm facilitates its application in

Optidew cooled mirror dew point meter offered by Michell Instruments
can now be used for a wide variety of applications due to its increased
cable length of up to 250 metres. In many industrial applications it is
a critical requirement that the sensor unit can be installed remotely to
the electronic of the hygrometer. The Optidew hygrometer uses the
fundamental cooled mirror measurement technique that is amongst the most
established and widely recognised dew point temperature device. A
precision PT100 is used to measure this temperature with a standard
accuracy of 0.2°C dew point and the resultant humidity level is
displayed on the instrument front panel in a variety of engineering

level, program, Burkert announces the release of its new 8136,
8137, & 8138 continuous non contact radar level transmitters to their
program. The addition of these new models will expand the range and
media types that can be measured with non contact radar technology.
Areas where intrinsic safety is required will also open up to Burkerts
level program with the addition of ATEX and FM approvals. Burkert can
now measure open channel flow & tank levels for a broad range of solids
& liquids with our complete level program covering 95% of all level
