JUMO BlackLine pH/redox electrodes – now
even better |
| |
Customers
can now measure the pH value and redox potential (ORP) using the
cost-effective sensors in the JUMO BlackLine series of electrodes from
JUMO GmbH & Co. KG, Fulda, Germany. These electrodes – tried and
tested for many years – have recently been made even better. So far,
only high-quality process electrodes have been manufactured using the
well-proven JUMO solid electrolyte and annular-gap diaphragm. The
resulting benefits are a longer electrode life and, at the same time, a
reduced danger of electrolyte poisoning due to the ingress of foreign
matter and electrode poisons. The open annular-gap diaphragm provides
the link between the medium and reference system. A rugged reference
system in cartridge style has replaced the wire conduction system used
up to now. The application of a cartridge-style reference system ensures
that the electrolyte supplies a stable reference signal, with the result
that stable measurements are transmitted for a longer period during the
entire measurement process. These sensors are therefore ideally suited
to the use in aquariums (also seawater aquariums), in greenhouse
technology, and for determining the pH and/or redox potential in surface
water (rainwater, pond water). ... |

HBM celebrates calibration milestones |
| |
HBM
has celebrated two simultaneous milestones of its calibration work; the
company has achieved 30 years service as an official DKD calibration
laboratory and issued its 20,000th calibration certificate. DKD
calibration certificates provide guaranteed proof of traceability to
National Standards as required by, for example, ISO 9000 and ISO 17025.
Calibrations undertaken by DKD accredited laboratories ensure that test
results meet the highest standards of safety and reliability
particularly in respect of quality management. It was just five years
ago that HBM issued its 10,000th calibration certificate underlining the
enormous growth and increased importance of calibration services. The
20,000th DKD certificate was issued to ZF-Passau GmbH during a ceremony
held at HBM’s head office in Darmstadt, Germany. ZF-Passau uses force
and torque transducers and amplifier systems from HBM ... |

JUMO CTI-750 Inductive conductivity
measurement - new options meet customers' wishes |
| |
At
the beginning of 2006, JUMO GmbH & Co. KG, Fulda, Germany,
launched a transmitter for electrolytic conductivity, concentration and
temperature, which incorporates the inductive measurement principle.
Since then, the transmitter has become extremely popular with all
customers. Price and performance perfectly match market requirements.
Its “smaller brother”, the JUMO CTI-500, has already set completely new
standards. With this model, inductive conductivity measurement as such
has finally lost its aura of “expensive special measurement technology”.
The JUMO CTI-750 will be presented in a new guise at the BRAU trade
fair: The customer now has the choice between the well-established
plastic housing or the “shining” stainless steel one. In its new
stainless steel look, the CTI-750 harmonizes optically with the
appliances of the food and beverage industry. The stainless steel
housing is available for the combined instrument (sensor and transmitter
together in one unit) as well as for the remote version (sensor and
transmitter connected by ... |

Compact pressure balance - for
calibration and adjustment |
| |
With
the CPB3000 pressure balance, WIKA is able to offer a reference
instrument which sets new standards in terms of price and performance.
This new product provides cost-conscious users with a simple,
high-precision primary standard (total measuring uncertainty of up to
0.025% of the measured value), having excellent operational
characteristics and the best long-term stability. The long free-rotation
time, in conjunction with a low sink rate, makes problem-free
calibration and adjustment possible, not only in the laboratory, but
also for on-site applications – aided by the compact dimensions, which
remain unchanged throughout operation. The low-friction spindle pump
makes handling simple and ergonomic. With the mass discs, stored on top
of the base plate, measuring ranges of up to 1000 bar are possible
(corresponding psi ranges are optionally available). ... |

Pressure Calibration Technology: WIKA
raises its profile |
| |
In
the field of calibration technology for pressure measurement, WIKA is
increasingly gaining importance. The company has enhanced its standing
in the international market with the acquisition of the established US
company Mensor (precision pressure controllers) and, in parallel, has
intensified its service provision. The industry itself has now
emphasized this development by an important appointment: the Pressure
Technical Committee of Deutscher Kalibrierdienst (DKD - the German
Calibration Service) has selected the WIKA representative, Christian
Elbert, as its chairman. The Technical Committee represents the 53 DKD
accredited laboratories from industry, research and public authorities.
WIKA operates one of the largest such facilities in Germany. Every year,
its pressure laboratory in Klingenberg tests several thousand
calibration devices for customers: WIKA products - automatic pressure
controllers and pressure balances - as well as ... |

Complete structural monitoring according
to DIN4150-3 with just one case |
| |
With
the VibroMatrix Set-21, ALTHEN GmbH Mess- und Sensortechnik -
specialist in the electrical measurement of mechanical variables - is
presenting a complete digital system for monitoring structural
vibrations in accordance with DIN4150-3. It is distinguished by its high
reliability and ease of use and, thanks to its mobility, covers a wide
usage spectrum. The cost-effective system weighs just 3.5 kg, and comes
in a handy case together with all its accessories. The VibroMatrix
Set-21 is used when it is necessary to monitor vibrations in structures.
Frequent applications are the monitoring of architectural monuments, in
computer centres, and in the vicinity of quarries and mines. It is
therefore of particular interest to architects, building professionals,
construction companies and also to the owners of high-value real estate,
e.g. close to building sites. The completely re-equipped VMSet-21 comes
with everything that is needed for accurate monitoring in accordance
with DIN4150-3 in one case: high-sensitivity sensors, which measure even
the smallest vibrations, a mounting plate for the 3-axis positioning of
the sensors, ... |
