LIN
nodes continue their exponential growth rates in cars resulting in
master modules controlling multiple LIN busses. To address this growing
need for multi LIN transceiver systems Melexis introduces a 4-channel
LIN transceiver IC. The MLX80001 can significantly reduce system costs
of the LIN physical layer by 20% compared to multiple single transceiver
ICs found in, for example, a Body Control Module. The MLX80001 extends
Melexis’ existing product line of LIN transceivers and System Basis
Chips. The LIN bus (Local Interconnect Network) continues its successful
adoption in automotive and industrial applications with the release of
LIN version 2.0 and the release of SAE J2602 Networking specification.
This robust, cost effective communication scheme enables many basic
networking functions in sub-systems previously considered to be
uneconomical for smart actuators and controls. As a consequence of this
successful implementation of many different LIN applications there is a
need for Body Control Modules to manage different LIN Bus sub-systems at

possibility of a 1-point humidity and temperature calibration ensures

Press fitting of bearings, bushings or shafts, for example in housings
or gearboxes, can be monitored very accurately through the variation in
the pressing force over the displacement. The characteristic nature of
this force curve allows evaluation of the quality of process and tool.
ControlMonitors from Kistler analyze the curve and decide whether or not
the assembly is acceptable.
CoMo brand control monitors record the interdependent measurement
variables of pressing force and displacement in pairs during the
press-fit process. They display their functional relationship as shown
in the diagram below and evaluate it at the end of the cycle. Process
evaluation: To reveal deviations from a reference part, a reference
curve determined from an optimal press-fit process can be stored in the
CoMo and shown in blue. The press-fit process is evaluated on the basis
of thresholds, tolerance boxes and stop position windows. These objects
can be almost freely defined in terms of position, size and type of
evaluation (entry, exit and transit, minimum and maximum force, etc). To
obtain a part that is acceptable the measured curve must pass through
the chosen evaluation objects as defined. Entry and exit sides are
highlighted in green and the direction in which the curve passes through
them shown by an arrow. Red limits must not be breached. A maximum of 12

diaphragm and in-line seals are now certified to EHEDG (European
Hygienic Engineering & Design Group). Moreover, the diaphragm seals
conform to the 3A guidelines. Thus solutions are available, which
guarantee compliance with stringent hygienic guidelines, both in Europe
and the USA, for the food and pharmaceutical industries and also
manufacturers with similarly high demands. The diaphragm seals,
certified by the TU Munich/Weihenstephan, ensure safe application with
sterile connections such as Varivent, Neumo BioConnect, Neumo Connect S
or connections to DIN 11864. WIKA uses stainless steel 1.4435 as a
standard for all surfaces in contact with critical process media. For
the EHEDG certification, all wetted surfaces meet the following
specification: Average surface roughness, Ra ≤ 0.5 μm (Ra ≤ 0.8 μm close
to welds). The benefit to the operator: Plants can be cleaned
particularly effectively using CIP/SIP processes. In addition,
components from this material exhibit good welding and
corrosion-resistance characteristics – and, if needed, they can be
