Transmitter with interchangeable probes – EE22 |
| |
 |
E+E Elektronik
has designed the humidity /
temperature transmitter EE22 with interchangeable probes.
The calibration data is stored in the probes, and the most significant
feature of the EE22 Series is the interchangeable sensing probes with
connector, which allows the performance of the EE22 to not be affected. |
|
|
The accuracy over the entire
temperature range is based on precise calibration methods. Well-proven
E+E humidity sensor elements ensure excellent long-term stability. For
cases where there are extreme temperature applications from –40°C up to
+80°C (-40°F…+176°F) or limited space availability, the sensing probes
can be connected to EE22 housing with cables (2, 5 or 10m / 6.6, 16.4 or
32.8ft) without any repercussions for the overall accuracy of the
instrument. The temperature output can be scaled according to the
application, for example 0 to 1 / 5 / 10 voltage or current 4 to 20 mA
(2 wire) outputs. |

More information from your pressure data |
| |

Traditional pressure components typically offer only limited information
such us approximate altitude values and weather trends. High
performance, low power consumption and small component size are critical
factors in the successful development of improved solutions for
positioning as well as sports & wellness devices. Such features allow
more functionality to be packed into a limited space, cost and power
budget – all crucial benefits for any battery powered application. The
VTI SCP1000 features single digit pressure resolution with
minimal use of power, bringing a new level of usability and
functionality to consumer electronics. Ability to sense even a minor
change in altitude: Bicycle computers and positioning devices will
benefit from exact terrain profile and true uphill/downhill steepness
angle information. With the help of distance information, decimal
accurate altitude information can be used to calculate the steepness of
a slope with high accuracy. ... |

LEM introduces compact panel-mounted
current transducers for unipolar +5V operation |
| |
LEM has added the HASS series to its range of current transducer
families designed to operate from a single +5V power supply. The seven
units offer maximum current measurements from 50 to 600ARMS, and share
the same mechanical design, measuring only 40 x 30 x 32.5mm with a 20.4
x 10.4mm aperture for the primary conductor.
The transducers weigh only 55g, an important feature for panel-mounting
applications. A unique LEM ASIC designed for use with open-loop
Hall-effect technology has been used to provide performance
improvements, including better offset and gain drifts and improved
linearity, in addition to an extended operating temperature range (-40
to +85°C) compared to traditional discrete technology. The transducers
can measure DC, AC and pulse currents, with low power consumption, while
providing galvanic isolation between the primary and output circuits.
The internal reference voltage (2.5V) is provided on a separate contact
(of the Molex 5045-04A connector) or can be forced by an external
reference (between 2 and 2.8V) for reference thermal drift cancellation.
Gain and offset are fixed and set so that, at Ipn, the output voltage is ... |

3D MEMS - technology for the future
available today |
| |
VTI's implementation of high aspect ratio MEMS is called 3D MEMS.
It comprises high aspect ratio reactive ion etching of silicon, use of
SOI wafers and proprietary hermetic wafer level encapsulation technology
with vertical vias through the wafer. High aspect ratio etching: High
aspect ratio reactive ion etching enables high device density and gives
the freedom to design arbitrary shapes, contrary to wet chemical etching
of silicon. VTI has introduced three basic etching processes: fast
etching of coarse patterns through the wafer, shallow etching of precise
patterns and 1:25 aspect ratio etching down to 100 µm depth with good
sidewall control. The two first ones are often combined on a single SOI
wafer. SOI wafers: Etch stop, electrical isolation, mechanical anchoring
and release of MEMS structures are accomplished by using an SOI wafer.
VTI uses bonded SOI wafers to combine the thickness of the entire wafer
with the delicate structures etched in the device layer. Bonded cavity
SOI wafers are used to obtain freedom from parasitic capacitive and
electrostatic effects. ... |

PCB Piezotronics Introduces New Series 175 Diesel & Gas Engine
Combustion Pressure Sensors |
| |
 |
Depew, NY, USA – PCB Piezotronics, Inc. (PCB®) has introduced a
new series of dynamic pressure sensors, ideal for monitoring dynamic
combustion pressure in diesel and natural gas powered engines and other
reciprocating equipment. Proper monitoring of engines and machinery
using these sensors allows for extended maintenance intervals, improved
fuel efficiency, and lower NOx emissions. |
|
|
Sensors feature piezoelectric sensing elements with very fast response
times, and are best suited for continuous monitoring or periodic
walk-around cylinder balancing. Intrinsically safe versions are
available for explosive gas atmospheres. With no moving parts and
solid-state construction, the durability of Series 175 is unsurpassed by
any other type of pressure sensor. Frequency response may be adjusted
for use during engine load changes on low or high-speed engines. These
sensors have measurement ranges up to 3,600 psi (250 bar) and a maximum
pressure of up to 4,000 psi (300 bar). They are well-suited for use in ... |

RGB
Color Sensing For Automation
Applications |
| |
 |
Verify the presence of targets that can be differentiated by color,
faster and with greater control. The EMX ColorMax-1000™ color
sensor lets your machine see up to 15 colors and RGB intensity. What's
more, innovative technology improves sensitivity and speed, so you can
maximize the pace of manufacturing. |
|
|
Recognizes 15 colors. Use fewer sensors. No need to reprogram when you
change setups. Traditional color sensors output only a "match/no match"
condition, but the ColorMax™-1000 also outputs the analog values for
each RGB reading. Now machines and operators can see not just which
color, but how much color - enabling tighter control... |
