New Capacitive Sensors Connect to LabView™
Instantly, Transmit Data Sheets and Detect System Faults – While
Improving Performance |
| |
|
New Elite Series noncontact, capacitive displacement sensor systems from
Lion Precision employ the latest in sensor communication
technology to make integration in data acquisition systems easy and
robust. The Elite Series features the CPL190 and CPL290 capacitive
sensors and the MM190 Meter/Signal Processing Module. |
|
|
Using Virtual Instrument Drivers, Elite Series systems can connect to
National Instruments LabView™ to retrieve measurements and control
system functions. A high-density connector on the rear panel of the
system connects directly to National Instruments data acquisition
boards. Improved performance and added features also benefit users not
employing LabView™. Elite Series provides more than simple measurement
information: - TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheets): Communicates
calibration information such as calibrated range, last calibration date,
calibration due date, driver electronics serial numbers and associated
probe serial numbers. - Fault Detection: Alerts the data acquisition
system if the measurement is out of range or due for calibration. ... |

MAZeT GmbH presents two unique OEM true-colour
sensor modules |
| |
|
MAZeT GmbH presents two unique OEM true-colour sensor modules
under the name MTCS-TIAM. This expands the JENCOLOUR® product group to
include additional sensor IC solutions. MTCS-TIAM1: Under the name of
MTCS-TIAM1, MAZeT offers a colour sensor board with optical shutters
which, ... |
|
|
... along with the MTCSiCS true-colour sensor IC, also integrates the
new MTI04CQ transimpedance amplifier using very compact chip-on-board
technology. The board can be provided with 2 optional whitelight LEDs
and an aperture for screening from the environment for compliance with
the measurement geometry requirements 10° in accordance with DIN5033. On
the input side, the TIAM1 contains the control pins of the MTI04C, which
allow amplification and bandwidth to be adapted, as well as a power-down
mode. Due to its integrated components and construction, the board is
suitable for use as a complete sensor head ... |

OPTIFLUX measures district heating use |
| |
|
OPTIFLUX 4010 with Temperature Controller. An energy company from
Switzerland supplies a shopping centre in the Mittelland region with
district heating. Hot water from the waste burning facility is fed into
a pipeline, which covers the distance to the shopping centre. This is
where the measurements of district heating use for the stores are taken. |
|
|
To measure the exact quantity of heating use, the energy company needed
a reliable device, which could communicate various measurements to the
control system simultaneously. That's why they are using the OPTIFLUX
4010C electro-magnetic flowmeter from KROHNE together with an
energy processor and a KROHNE PT100 4-wire temperature sensor. The
OPTIFLUX gives reliable measurements of the flow volume per hour. ... |

AutoSet MK7 FRS Capacitance Probe |
| |
 |
4B introduces a new level indicator. The AutoSet MK7
provides the user with visual indication of the set values. This added
advantage allows simpler on site adjustment and set-up via a push button
membrane and large 4 digit LED display. |
|
|
The AutoSet MK7 is used for high or low level control of liquids,
powders and free-flowing granular solids stored in tanks, bins and
silos. With its build-up compensation circuit and power-shield, the
AutoSet MK7 is not affected by material build-up, and can be side or top
mounted. Stainless steel probes come in many lengths up to 33ft. For
high temperature or vibration applications, a remote version is also
available. ... |

Steering Angle Correction for System 2000 |
| |
|
The kinematics of an individual vehicle give rise to different measuring
errors. System 2000 now has a remedy for this problem. The Type 5629A11
and 5629A12 ANI plug-in cards available as onboard electronics
accessories offer analog inputs for processing signals suitable for
correcting systematic measuring errors. |
|
|
Suitable adaptation of the coordinate transformation consequently allows
conversions to be performed in real time in the signal processors. For
example, the steering angle from a measuring steering wheel can be fed
in through the card to correct errors in this angle induced by the
steering geometry during bend negotiation that lead to rotation of the
coordinate system fixed relative to the wheel. Errors produced by
changes in other kinematic variables of the wheel, for example, the
change in wheel camber during shock absorber compression, can also be
measured with a suitable sensor system for feedback purposes. Other
sensors, such as cable potentiometers, can be considered as an
alternative to the measuring steering wheel for acquiring the steering
angle. ... |
