 With
Kistler's DMF-P A310 Universal Type 4740A… a new
force-displacement evaluation unit for electromechanical NC joining
systems is introduced. It is a development of the widespread DMF-P A300
NCF Type 4734A…, which has proven uniquely effective in complex
industrial joining processes. The operating concept with clear,
user-friendly guidance is along the same lines as the previously
marketed force-displacement unit DMF-P A300 NCF. The enhancements have
focused on optimizing and speeding up system commissioning for faster
installation at lower cost. The integral EtherNet/IP master replaces
four cables and significantly reduces cabling and installation work. Its
functionality allows the servo controller to be operated and controlled
directly by the DMF-P A310 Universal. Faster data transmission even at
program changeovers shortens cycle times. During commissioning the
system can still be run without the master control system being fully
functional. Integral control allows quick and easy setting up for all
common control systems without any special function block. Further
optional fieldbuses such as EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet IO and DeviceNet are

Pressure Transmitter with SIL2 Approval |

 Baumer’s
pressure transmitter PFSX with SIL2 certification (Safety Integrity
Level 2) has been developed according to the IEC 61508 standard. It is
suitable for water treatment and energy generation applications as well
as for applications in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and
food & beverage industries. The measuring instrument comes with a 4…20
mA analogue output and two galvanically insulated relay outputs with
integrated test functions for alarm purposes. The PFSX can measure
pressure ranges from 0…1 up to 0…400 bar with an accuracy of ±0.5 % of
the full scale. The
pressure transmitter has a four-digit red LED display (8 mm high)
with two set points. It is fully programmable on site without any
additional tools. All parameters are password-protected. The SIL2
approval is based on the Safe Failure Fraction (SFF) of 98 % and the
Hardware Fault Tolerance (HFT) which is 0. The sensor architecture
guarantees SIL2 safety without the need to use two pressure switches to

new RY61M SG hole drilling rosette that HBM is now marketing for
this hole drilling method has a patented structure, which appreciably
increases the accuracy of residual stress measurement. The so-called
hole drilling method is the one most frequently used to determine
residual stresses in components. With the hole drilling method,
strain
gages (SG) determine the deformation, also called the relaxation strain,
all around a drill hole, while a drill hole is being inscribed. Hole
drilling rosettes with three SG measuring grids are normally used for
the hole drilling method. The eccentricity of the hole is a possible

extended its range of temperature probes for this industry by an outdoor
RTD temperature probe. The white plastic housing of the temperature
probe is UV resistant and can be fitted to the wall using the easily
accessible fastening holes. Air chambers in the housing guarantee
long-term stability and precision of the temperature monitoring. The
connection cable can be inserted via a rubber stopper or plastic screw

RS485, and CANbus. The unique design of the isolation diaphragm reduces
stress levels normally caused by torquing a tapered thread into the
