JUMO MAERA, The new level measurement
probe series |
| |
JUMO:
The measurement variable of liquid level, particularly the hydrostatic
measurement of liquid level, has got a new look: Both
level measurement
probes, the MAERA S25 and S28, are additions to the current JUMO product
range. The current brochure and Internet presentation provides a quick
overview of both the new and the established. Level measurement probes
are used for hydrostatic liquid level measurement in tanks, or for
determining the level in open waters. There are so many products and
variants available on the market that it is often difficult to make the
right choice for a given application. The vast number of different
variants at JUMO are simply and clearly set out in the new “Level
measurement probes – hydrostatic level and liquid level measurement”
brochure at http://br-levelprobes.jumo.info and in the product
comparison at http://pc-levelprobes.jumo.info. Starting from the
application, all the level measurement probes can be delivered complete
with different cables, materials and process connections in the various
price segments, as well as with approval, integrated overvoltage
protection or temperature sensor options ... |

Patented SG hole drilling rosette for
accurately determining residual stresses |
| |
The
new RY61M SG hole drilling rosette that HBM is now marketing for
this hole drilling method has a patented structure, which appreciably
increases the accuracy of residual stress measurement. The so-called
hole drilling method is the one most frequently used to determine
residual stresses in components. With the hole drilling method,
strain
gages (SG) determine the deformation, also called the relaxation strain,
all around a drill hole, while a drill hole is being inscribed. Hole
drilling rosettes with three SG measuring grids are normally used for
the hole drilling method. The eccentricity of the hole is a possible
source of error with this method. The new RY61M SG hole drilling rosette
uses six measuring grids instead of the customary three, to further
improve the accuracy of this process. The hole drilling rosette
measuring grids are arranged around the drill hole, with each of the
opposite SG pairs being interconnected so that ... |

New Cognex Code Reading Technology Makes
Any 1D Barcode or 2D Code an Easy Read |
| |
|
Cognex Corporation: With the recent introduction of 1DMax™, a
totally new 1D code reading algorithm which sets a new standard for 1D
code reading performance, Cognex now offers the most comprehensive range
of 1D barcode and 2D Data Matrix code reading tools available in the
market. Regardless of the size, quality, printing method or surface the
codes are marked on, Cognex patented IDMax® technology allows for an
accurate read of virtually every type of code, every time! “Fast,
reliable reading of codes is a high priority for manufacturers. If a
barcode reader doesn’t have the right technology to keep up with the
variety of different codes found in real world scenarios—everything from
uneven lighting, poor print quality, noisy backgrounds, to scratched
codes—it can mean time, cost and frustration for any manufacturer,” said
Carl Gerst, Business Unit Manager for Industrial ID at Cognex. “That is
why higher technology image-based readers are rapidly replacing
laser-based readers in a wide range of ... |

Capacitive fill level sensor for soiled
media |
| |
Baumer’s
new CFAK 12 capacitive
fill level sensor detects conductive liquids while suppressing dirt
particles and detergent residues. When detecting fill levels in soiled
media, conventional
capacitive sensors are susceptible to suspended solids that
influence their switching behavior in a negative manner. The new CFAK 12
is the smart remedy for these applications. Incorporated into a grounded
metal basin it monitors the fill levels of water and water-based fluids.
Thanks to its special housing design and the plane plastic surface, dirt
particles hardly adhere to the sensor. Therefore, the cleaning effort is
drastically reduced compared to conventional solutions. Even if dirt
should adhere to the sensor the integrated compensating electrode makes
sure that it is suppressed and the fill level is still detected
precisely. Additionally, the capacitive sensor is extremely resistant to
detergents and suppresses their residues reliably. Amongst others, the
capacitive fill level sensor is applied in railway lavatories ... |

Flush Diaphragm Pressure Transducer
Features NPT Threads, Amplified Output |
| |
Stellar
Technology Inc offers the new Model FT29XX amplified
pressure transducer. This rugged all-welded stainless steel sensor
combines a standard NPT male process connection with a flush diaphragm.
In addition, the FT29XX pressure transmitter is designed with internal
signal conditioning. Customers can select 4-20mA current outputs,
numerous voltage outputs, as well as digital outputs including RS232,
RS485, and CANbus. The unique design of the isolation diaphragm reduces
stress levels normally caused by torquing a tapered thread into the
mating fitting. The FT29XX introduces zero dead volume to the fixturing
and resists the accumulation of residue that can clog traditional
pressure ports. The sensing element is machined from a single piece of
steel, making the FT29XX insensitive to shock and vibration. This unit
is ideal for metering and dispensing operations, for the application of
sealants and paints, or anywhere a flush diaphragm unit is desired. ... |
