Temperature transmitter T32.xS for
protection systems |
| |
The
T32.xS
temperature transmitter from WIKA, developed for a wide
range of applications in industry, is now available with a variant
certified for SIL2 applications and for redundant use for SIL3
applications. The specific qualification of the temperature transmitter
for use in protection systems has been certified by TÜV Rheinland after
successful auditing. There are only two such transmitters, worldwide,
which conform to the defined stringent procedure "Full Assessment in
accordance with IEC61508". Previously field devices of this type were
only evaluated through their operational reliability and/or their
failure statistics and for SIL applications declared with the attribute
"proven in use". The new procedure "Full Assessment in accordance with
IEC61508", in contrast, determines and certifies the qualification for
protection systems in accordance with strict rules, which already
include the design and development process and require the consistent
use of professional, high-end tools for quality assurance. Alongside
comprehensive internal failure monitoring, the T32.xS temperature
transmitter offers a dual sensor ... |

JUMO TB/TW 08- The new temperature
limiter and monitor to EN 14 597 for panel mounting |
| |
The
new TB/TW 08 extends JUMO’s existing portfolio of instruments
that can be used in the functional safety range to EN 14 597. Using this
freely configurable, 48 mm x 96 mm instrument can reduce to a minimum
the potential risks to people, property or the environment inherent in
systems or operational processes. The primary task of the temperature
limiter and monitor is to safely monitor thermotechnical processes, and
bring systems to a safe operating state in the event of a fault.
Although the practical functionality of the instrument was a priority in
its conception, its design has not been neglected. Linear in form and
characterized by features such as an ultra-flat front panel and a
brilliant display, the instrument can fit in with the design of more
sophisticated systems, and round off the overall concept. The display is
clearly set out and shows all the process values relevant to safety.
Additional LEDs also indicate whether system function is OK, or whether
a warning alarm or a main alarm has been triggered. ... |

Combination sensor system for
single-sided thickness measurement |
| |
Sensor
specialist Micro-Epsilon is relaunching its proven combination
sensor, the KS5. The new KSH5 has been developed even further and now
combines a
capacitive sensor and an
eddy current sensor with additional
integrated
temperature measurement, in a single, compact sensor module.
The combination sensor is used for single-sided thickness measurement of
plastics. Both sensors measure without making contact with the target
and measure continuously in one axis on the same measuring spot. This
means that the combination sensor offers significant benefits when
compared with conventional designs in which multiple sensors are
positioned adjacent to one another. The sensor has a measuring range of
5mm and for the first time has been produced using a unique ECT
production technology recently developed by Micro-Epsilon. Even higher
resolution , very high temperature stability and longer service life
combined with a very compact sensor housing are just some of the
benefits that customers will see from this new technology. A special,
optimised combination connector is provided, which means that output
signals from temperature measurements, the capacitive sensor and the
eddy current sensor can be transmitted in a single connection cable. ... |
