New ultrasonic sensor for the smallest
objects |
| |
Baumer
is launching its new Series 09
ultrasonic sensors for detecting very small objects in openings with
small diameters. The sensors are equipped with a special nozzle which
allows them to measure into openings of a minimum of 3 mm in diameter.
Thanks to the rectangular housing with a width of only 9 mm, they are
ideally suited for applications with limited space and can be cascaded.
The resulting parallel measurement and the short response time of 7 ms
lead to shorter process times. The electrical outputs range from analog
and digital to serial or IO-link, which increases the flexibility.
Although the ultrasonic sensors have originally been developed for the
laboratory automation they can be used in many different industries. ... |

New Ultra-Precision Touch Probe for
Coordinate Metrology |
| |
Lion
Precision: The Triskelion Tactile Probe System is an extremely
high-precision, fully three-dimensional contact probe suited for point
measurements or scanning with a CMM or in other applications. The probe
is designed and manufactured by IBS Precision engineering in The
Netherlands and sold in the United States by Lion Precision. The
Triskelion probe uses noncontact sensors from Lion Precision to measure,
within a few nanometers, the deflection of the stylus when it contacts
the part being inspected. This measurement is used in the final
calculation of the surface location. Conventional CMM probes do not
measure this deflection resulting in an error in the measurement often
greater than 0.5 µm. An extremely thin and stiff stylus, connected to a
very flat leaf spring allows the stylus to work in three dimensions with
very low contact forces of less than 0.3 mN. This small force prevents
damage to delicate parts and is the same in all three dimensions. ... |

Oil resistant thanks to Viton® sealing |
| |
The
UPX series
ultrasonic sensors of SNT Sensortechnik AG are well
proven proximity switches for detecting targets regardless of material,
surface, color and size, even under dust, dirt, fog and light up to a
distance of 500mm. The UPB version in the same housing is an ultrasonic
through beam sensor, whose outstanding characteristics is the high
measurement speed coupled with the large measuring range of 1500mm.
Thanks to the new transducer sealing made of Viton® the UPX and UPB
sensors are very robust against many environmental influences. In
particular, they are oil resistant, unlike many other ultrasonic
sensors. The black annular seal between the white transducer and the
sensor housing is used for acoustic decoupling. Thus it must be of
elastic material. SNT Sensortechnik AG is now able to offer this sealing
in very resistant Viton ® material. SNT Sensortechnik AG is a specialist
in ultrasonic sensors for more than 20 years ... |

Digital amplifier VKIA405 guarantees
long-term stability in gravimetric warehouse monitoring |
| |
In
order to securely and permanently protect warehouse storage areas from
being overloaded, HBM has developed the digital amplifier
VKIA405. Up to four analog load cells can be connected to the new
amplifier. The VKIA405 guarantees long-term stability of the storage
system as the digital weighing system enables monitoring of the storage
during ongoing operation, thereby preventing overloading of the storage
area. This application in storage lifts and automatic warehouses places
special requirements on measurement technology: Any maintenance would
interrupt the continuous removal and storage of goods, costing a lot of
money. Long-term stability is therefore the main criterion in the
selection of the right measurement and weighing technology. The VKIA
enables digi-tal measured value processing with long-term stable supply
voltage for the analog
load cells. In addition, a HBM-tested off-center load compensation
network is integrated in the VKIA405, enabling a simple installation of
the system without additional wiring connection boxes for the load
cells. ... |

SenGenuity Announces TempTrackr™ Wireless
Temperature Measurement System Kit with Six Sensor Capability |
| |
SenGenuity,
the sensors division of Vectron International, today announced
that its TempTrackr™ Wireless Temperature Measurement System Kit is now
capable of reading six independent passive, wireless
temperature sensors. Each sensor operates in a unique frequency
band, which prevents cross-talk with other sensors and provides them
unique identification within the system architecture. Based on surface
acoustic wave (SAW) technology, the sensors require no batteries or
external power supply. They are powered by electromagnetic bursts
generated by a wireless transceiver, which serves to power the sensors
and listen to response signals generated by them. A change in the
frequency of the response signal is indicative of a change in the
temperature being measured. The TempTrackr™ Wireless Temperature
Measurement System is highly scalable and can accommodate up to 12
wireless temperature sensors with appropriate setup and configuration ... |
