New ultra compact 120W DIN-Rail Power
Supply |
| |
After
launching SDR-240 (240W) and SDR-480 (480W) high performance single
output slim DIN-Rail series from Mean Well, PEWATRON continues to
extend its product coverage to lower wattage applications. For the
growing demand of low to medium wattage with high performance and space
saving requirements, SDR-120 (120W) series, the AC/DC isolation class I
power units, are formally introduced to the market now. With up-to-date
circuit design, SDR-120 series possess up to 91% of high efficiency and
can provide 120W continuously or 180W peak power for 3 seconds up to
55~60°C by only free air convection. With built-in active PFC function,
SDR-120 is a full range AC input (88~264VAC) switcher that fulfils the
requirement of EN61000-3-2 for harmonic current. The slim design of 40mm
in width helps to save precious space on the DIN-Rail and also makes it
30% smaller in size compared to the standard model DR-120 (120W).
Meanwhile, SDR-120 ... |

UPS 150 FB Series: Level measurement in
cavities with only 4mm diameter |
| |
SNT
Sensortechnik AG: Our UPS miniature
ultrasonic sensors had a very
successful sales performance in 2008. Many industrial applications can
be solved with the standard model UPS 200, where optical, inductive or
capacitive sensors might have problems with detection. Furthermore with
the UPS sensors with analogue output a precise distance or
level
measurement can be realized, with a precision of approx. 0.3mm. The
special version “FOCUS Beam” has been particularly successful in various
applications. It proved its advantage in the detection through very
narrow openings. Since the FOCUS Beam does not have any disadvantageous
blind range, one can place it very close (few millimeters only) to the
opening of a cavity. There the beam is only 3mm wide in diameter. This
allowed e.g. to measure the level in only 4mm wide honey comb shape
cavities as used in medical laboratory applications (see left picture
below) with an accuracy of only few 1/10mm. Of course such measurement
needs a precise alignment of the sensor axis and the cavity to be
measured. On the right side below the comparison of detection beams of
UPS 200 (standard sensor) vs. UPS 150 FB (FOCUS Beam sensor) is shown. ... |

New thermo-paramagnetic oxygen
transmitter for harsh industrial applications |
| |
Michell
Instruments: The new XTP600 oxygen transmitter from Michell is a
robust self-contained oxygen transmitter that makes
oxygen measurement
in the process industry as simple as a field pressure or temperature
measurement. While traditional paramagnetic oxygen analysers suffer from
drift, Michell’s latest thermo paramagnetic technology makes this
transmitter almost drift-free. The XTP600 measures oxygen content
between 0.01 and 100% using the latest developments in non-depleting
thermo-paramagnetic technology. With no moving parts, the transmitter
can be sited directly in harsh industrial environments without any risk
of interference from vibration. The extremely compact size and simple
design of the XTP600 makes it ideal for installation next to the
measurement point with no additional cost for extensive piping or
frequent maintenance and calibration. Hydrogen applications are known to
cause significant sensor drift in traditional oxygen analysers. With the
latest thermo-paramagnetic technology the sensor element of the XTP600
is extremely stable even in ... |

Reliably read barcodes in every position,
Ready-to-use barcode-scanner portals for the omnidirectional reading of
barcode labels |
| |
Leuze
electronic: Reading unaligned barcode labels generally requires two
or more barcode scanners that are aligned with respect to one another.
The new MSPi systems from Leuze electronic are modularly structured and
mechanically premounted scanner portals. Electrically wired and
preconfigured, they are delivered ready-to-use for nearly every
application. With their integrated code fragment technology and high
scanning rate, the BCL 500i and BCL 501i series
barcode readers used in
the portals offer the essential prerequisites for detecting rotated
barcode labels. The code fragment technology makes possible the
identification of soiled, rotated or damaged codes, and the high,
adjustable scanning rate of between 800 and 1,200 scans per second
ensures identification even with very high conveyor speeds. With their
large depth of field and wide opening angle, the devices can also be
used on wide transport systems. Thanks to the flexible design of the MSPi systems, up to 32 of these BCL 500i series barcode readers can be
integrated in a single scanner portal. ... |

From the inventor of the ultrasonic
double sheet control: the new dbk+4 |
| |
microsonic:
In 1999 a well-known printing machine manufacturer for the first time
used the microsonic dbk-4 double sheet control in his sheet printing
machines. Since then the field of applications has extended far beyond
this. microsonic has now brought a new generation of
ultrasonic double
sheet controls onto the market. The new dbk+4 goes down extremely well
thanks to an absolutely new field of application and that fact that it
unites several variants of its predecessor in just one appliance. Three
control inputs now enable 3 pre-set working ranges to be selected – and
also changed during ongoing operations. "Standard" covers the broadest
spectrum of materials and weights for the straightforward double sheet
monitoring. "Thin" is used especially with very thin papers or films.
The "Thick" working mode is there for scanning thick plastic films or
PCBs. ... |

Our technology makes the difference,
Quality improvement of monolithic and flush mounted piezo resistive
ceramic pressure sensors through increased long term stability and
moisture resistance |
| |
Metallux
AG: Through innovative measures, long term stability and moisture
resistance of pressure sensors can be increased. The new improved
generation of
pressure sensors benefits on the one side from results of
modern measurements- and calculation tools as well as through marked
improvements in the screen print technology and better algorithm during
the laser trimming process. Metallux AG, a leading manufacturer of piezo
resistive pressure sensors was thus able to improve the quality of their
pressure sensors considerably. Current situation: Conventional
manufacturing process of piezoresistive ceramic pressure sensors. Piezoresistive pressure sensors are manufactured through a screen print
process. A Wheatstone bridge is printed onto a thin membrane and burned
in at 850°C. After the firing process the offset of the bridge needs to
be compensated. For this resistors are integrated in the bridge, which
are aligned through laser trimming. These laser trimmed resistors are
however a reason for instabilities ... |
