New for the JUMO PEKA adapter system: a
welding socket for pipe installations |
| |
The
new process connection adapter from JUMO is designed to conform
to EHEDG guidelines and meets the highest standards of hygiene. It is
suitable for welding to pipe installations or T-pieces using the orbital
welding method and is primarily used in applications in the food and
pharmaceutical industries. JUMO PEKA is an adapter system that combines
sensor technology and process connection. Virtually all available JUMO
sensors, such as temperature probes or pressure transmitters, can be
equipped with this system. With this method of welding, the user is
guaranteed a weld seam quality that is reliable and reproducible, even
inside the pipe. The use of a shield gas (forming gas) prevents tarnish
and the two parts of the weld join seamlessly together. The adapter is
used mainly in the food and pharmaceutical industries, when hygiene is a
sensitive issue. With its hygienic design and optimum welding method,
precision and cleanliness are combined in a reliable measuring point
which on the one hand is easy to clean and on the other, simultaneously
provides a high level of process safety. ... |

detection has to be adjusted to a certain height. Thanks to the DN38
process connection, the sensor is excellently suitable for food and
beverage industry applications. For the use in hazardous areas,
different ATEX versions are available. The sliding connection enables
the sensor’s application either as a cooling neck in high media
temperature applications for a temperature ranges from -40 °C to a
maximum of 200 °C or as an extension for various installation options.
By using this method, the medium can be reached through a tank
insulation or from the top of a tank. Additionally, the sensor tip can
reach deeper into the tank in order to detect the correct level of
viscous media that stick to the tank wall. The FlexLevel Switch detects
the level of liquids, viscous fluids ... |

pH and ORP electrode series has many new
customer advantages |
| |
Yet
more improvements have been made to the successful JUMO BlackLine
pH/Rd series of pH and ORP electrodes. Additional anti-kink protection
prevents breakage for sensors with fixed cables. At the same time,
modifying the encapsulation technique has increased the enclosure
protection type to IP 68. The potting compound and improved attachment
technique for the connecting cable in the terminal head now being used
permit a mechanical stress of up to 5 kg of tensile force. Internal
long-term tests and active cooperation with customers from the typical
application sectors of drinking and bathing water, as well as aquarium
water, have resulted in “honing” the product to increase still further
the success of this inexpensive series of electrodes. It is immediately
obvious from the outside appearance that mechanical changes have been
made to the head of the electrode. The reference electrolyte is an
additional development. Whereas acrylamide-based gels are still used in
many inexpensive electrolytes, the new JUMO hydro-gel solely comprises
toxicologically safe ingredients. In combination with the proven JUMO
salt reserve (pressed salt rings), this guarantees a particularly
long-term stable reference potential and a stable electrode zero point.
Jointly responsible for this is the high-quality ceramic diaphragm with
a very low diffusion potential. Of course, the hydrolysis-stable
reference electrolyte has no silver ions. The overall construction of
the electrode ensures ... |

Ratio pyrometer for hot applications |
| |
Measurement
technology company Micro-Epsilon has extended its range of
temperature sensors with a new ratio pyrometer. The new thermoMETER CT
ratio will be on display at the SPS|IPC|DRIVES exhibition in Nürnberg.
The sensor is a non-contact
temperature sensor, which is only dependent
on the emissivity ratio but not on the absolute emissivity. The sensor
measures by using two short wavelengths close to each other and forms a
ratio from this. The emissivity of the target is therefore no longer
required for measurements. A faultless measurement is also possible even
in the case of a 95% weakening of the IR radiation due to smoke or
steam. The sensor provides a measuring range of 700°C to 1,800°C at a
maximum ambient temperature of 250°C without cooling and is primarily
used in metal processing applications. The sensor electronics unit
enables connection to Profibus, Ethernet, USB, RS232 or RS485. The
thermoMETER CT ratio operates with an optical fibre between sensor and
electronics. Therefore, electromagnetic radiation has no influence on
the sensor. A sighting laser is projected onto the target by the lens of
the sensor; this enables constant mapping of the real measuring spot
size. The standard focus of the lens is at a distance of 60mm. Using an
additional, variable focussing lens, the user can set the focus point
between 65mm and 300mm. The pyrometer can be used as a standard
single-channel IR sensor or as a ratio pyrometer. ... |
