Load cells – robust and precise |
| |
The
DLRx
load cells from Baumer are calibrated, analog
force sensors.
These sensors are needed to measure forces very accurately – as quality
assurance as well as when controlling facilities and machines. They are
built directly into the flux of force. Thus, they can measure very close
to the spot where the force takes effect. Load cells are easy and
time-saving in their operation. The sensor emits the agent directly as
an analog signal. Therefore, the complete system does not have to be
calibrated. Higher cycle times are reached, because the sensor measures
statically. In contrast to dynamically measuring sensors, this system
does not have to be relieved of pressure and be tared. The precision of
the load arises from their high measuring accuracy. ... |

Compact high precision Torque Measuring
Sensor with integrated Tachometer for Tractor Applications |
| |
The
company Manner has developed a new high-precision
torque
measuring sensor for torque and power output monitoring at the power
take-off shaft (PTO) in agricultural vehicles. The sensor is
particularly compact and fits directly onto the PTO. It has the degree
of protection IP65 and is completely maintenance-free. The stator is
mounted on the shaft and is secured against rotation by means of a
chain. In addition to measuring torque levels up to 5 kNm, the system
also provides high-resolution speed monitoring using 180 pulses per
revolution. The digital telemetric transmission technology guarantees
100 percent interference-free transmission of the measuring signal.
Characteristic of the strain gauge based sensor is its high accuracy
down to 0.1% of the measuring range, its extremely low temperature drift
in the range -35 to +125°C as well as its compact construction (length =
50 mm). The measuring signal can ... |

The mobile phone becomes a service tool,
Quick Response Codes on Leuze electronic safety sensors simplify
commissioning and maintenance for the user. |
| |
Long
since established in Japan and now beginning to find acceptance with us:
using the mobile Internet to read Quick Response (QR) Codes via mobile
phones. Because the code contains the necessary address data, the user
doesn't need to tediously enter the Internet address or a search term in
the keypad of his mobile phone. Leuze electronic is now using this
technology for the first time to provide the user with optimum
assistance quickly and easily, directly on-site — completely independent
of Ethernet connections or WLAN availability and complicated
configurations. Leuze electronic has equipped Safety Light Curtains of
the SOLID-4E series with QR Codes. During maintenance or when
reinstalling a device, for example, these codes are the key to providing
the specialist with important information directly on the display of his
mobile phone, e.g. for diagnosing sensor messages or viewing FAQs, data
sheets and contact data for Leuze electronic Service for fast
assistance. The process is simple: The necessary software (QR Code
Reader) is generally already installed on new mobile phones. The user
starts the software, which in turn activates the phone's camera
function. ... |

Kavlico Introduces Low Range Dual Channel
High Pressure Sensor for Aircraft Hydraulic & Fuel Systems |
| |
Kavlico,
a global business unit of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) has
recently introduced a highly reliable dual channel
pressure sensor that can measure pressures up to 4,000 PSIA or 275
Bar. The lightweight (6.5 oz. max.) aluminum housing has been designed
to minimize weight; while the small footprint reduces installation time
as only one sensor is now required for two measurements. With only one
dual channel sensor to install vs. two single channel sensors, cabling
requirements and costs are reduced resulting in a cost-effective sensing
solution. Utilizing Kavlico’s media isolated, oil-filled, piezo-resistive
(PRT) sensing technology, the senor is capable of operation in harsh,
flight critical environments with a typical MTBF of 300,000 hours at
nominal operating temperatures. Each of the channel pressures are
independent of one another, allowing the channels to be calibrated with
different pressure outputs for each based upon the application-specific
requirement of the aircraft platform. Burst pressure is ... |

Piezoresistive steel-pressure sensors allow a wide pressure range of
up to 1.000 bar |
| |
A
new generation of stainless-steel piezoresistive
pressure sensors has been introduced by Metallux AG as series
SPS 3000/3001. Next to the classical monolithic standard type, these
sensors offer a process-connection which is directly integrated with the
sensor. The o-ring, due to this direct connection, falls away. The
pressure range is therefore increased. A pressure range of up to 1000
bar with a high burst pressure is possible. This makes it possible for
use in numerous applications as for example in refrigeration
engineering, hydraulics, automation technology and machine construction.
Metallux AG offers their customers, apart from a wide standard range,
custom specific solutions ... |

Profile sensors with new measuring range |
| |
The
Micro-Epsilon range of compact profile scanners has been extended
to include a new version. The profile scanners of the scanCONTROL 2700
and 2710 series are now also available with 50mm measuring range. This
closes the gap between the previous measuring ranges of 25mm and 100mm.
The models in the 2710 series have a compact housing with integrated
controller and have a favourable price/performance ratio. This
compactness makes the scanner ideal for use in automation applications
where there is often restricted space. Typical measurement tasks for the
scanCONTROL 2700 and 2710 are the measuring of angles, steps and
positions. The same is also possible for profiles such as adhesive
beads, weld seams, grooves and gaps. scanCONTROL 2700 acts as a pure
data supplier; the profile calculation is performed externally. The
scanCONTROL 2710 calculates the information directly in the sensor and
so can be operated without any additional PC or ... |
