Compact Electromechanical NC Joining
Systems for Efficient Assembly now with 15 kN Nominal Joining Force |
| |
With
its well-proven electromechanical NC joining modules such as NCFH Type
2151B…, Kistler offers a particularly compact and high-precision
system solution for a wide range of press-fitting and joining tasks with
integral
force /
displacement monitoring. This series has now been enhanced with a
new joining module with a 15 kN nominal joining force. The smaller size
1 electromechanical NC joining modules NCFH Type 2151B… are therefore
now available with nominal joining forces of 10 and 15 kN and in various
measuring range combinations from 1 kN to 15 kN. Size 2 covers joining
forces of 30 and 60 kN and measuring range combinations of 15, 30 and 60
kN. The two new types differ from the established 10 kN version by a
strengthened construction on the same compact space. With the
piezoelectric
force sensor, there is a choice of a second measuring range of 5 kN
(Type 2151B15052001) or 2 kN (Type 2151B15022001). These NC joining
modules are mechanically and electrically compatible with the existing
sizes ... |

thermoIMAGER
TIM is the new infrared camera from measurement technology company
Micro-Epsilon. The camera, which can be used in a fixed position,
has a very robust construction and is currently one of the smallest
infrared cameras in the world. This provides important benefits,
particularly in the case of limited space applications. Another special
feature of the camera is its absolute measuring method. This unique
system assigns a temperature value to each pixel of the IR image. The
thermoIMAGER TIM is a fixed, infrared camera for the recording and
presentation of temperature images and profiles. It provides measuring
ranges between -20°C and +900°C. The FPA detector used provides very
precise results with 160x120 pixels for a pixel size of 35µm. Despite
its compact installation size, the product is impressive because of its
ease of use. The integrated USB 2.0 interface enables the camera to
capture 100 images per second in real time. The signal can also be
output via analogue from 0-10V. The standard sensor ... |

Exact measurement of residual oxygen
content in furnace exhaust gas |
| |
The
MF010-O-LC dynamic
oxygen measuring system from J. Dittrich
Elektronic is the fail-safe way to determine the residual oxygen
content in furnace exhaust gas. With the help of a coupled controller
the excess air specified for reasons of safety can be minimised and
combustion in the furnace optimised, thereby increasing efficiency. In
this way it is possible to compensate for fluctuations in the quality of
fuels for modern wood firing. Contrary to a lambda probe which measures
the relative oxygen content, the extremely robust oxygen measuring
system determines the absolute content, i.e. the oxygen partial pressure
in the exhaust gas. For this reason, fluctuations in air pressure,
humidity and temperature have no influence on the accuracy of the
measurement. The system is calibrated electrically, without reference
gas and without additional personnel, in atmospheric air at the end of
the furnace’s ventilation phase, thereby reducing maintenance work. This
is made possible by a dynamic zirconium dioxide sensor and intelligent
hardware. ... |

Humidity Transmitter in Probe Design with
4 – 20mA Output in Probe Design from E+E Elektronik |
| |
E+E
Elektronik: The new transmitter of the series EE061, in the form of
a slim probe, allows for the precise measurement of the relative
humidity in air from 0…100 %RH. The main challenge in the development
was to deal with the heat generated by the current output. The latest
microprocessor technology in combination with excellent temperature
compensation and a special design of the electronics have solved this
problem. The EE061 unifies outstanding measurement accuracy with a
compact design and a 4 – 20 mA current output. The electronic board
integrated in the probe is protected from external influences by a
potting compound of very high quality and therefore usable from -40 to
60 °C. In combination with the for years now proven quality of the E+E
coating of the
humidity sensor, is the transmitter insensitive to dust,
dirt and condensation. The EE061 allows for stable long term
measurements in demanding applications like outside, in stables, storage
rooms, or greenhouses. All important information for the user is
engraved on the 160 mm long sensor probe by means of a laser and will be
still ... |

Nanostructured Electrochemical Ozone
Monitors |
| |
|
Synkera Technologies, Inc. has successfully completed a SBIR
Phase I grant from the National Institutes of Health aimed at developing
improved ozone sensors capable of making reliable in-field exposure
measurements for individuals with asthma and other respiratory diseases.
The ultimate goal of the project is the development and validation of a
new, personal monitor that will be able to detect low levels of ozone
(<12 ppb) in real-time with the required spatial resolution in order to
aid research on respiratory diseases, leading to a better understanding
of how people are affected by various environmental exposures. The
sensors build upon recent advances in electrochemical sensing technology
to create a next generation product that is significantly smaller,
faster, more sensitive, stable and lower cost than any electrochemical
sensor available today. There are three primary aspects to this
innovation: integration of a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) for
leak-free, stable operation; the use of ultra-small electrodes (nano-dots)
featuring nanometer length scales for increased sensitivity; and the use
of a unique substrate (nanoscale anodic aluminum oxide) and
manufacturing techniques for low cost, reproducible mass production of
the novel sensor architecture. These features are key to creating a
sensor device that is small, low power, sensitive and selective ... |

Miniature Column Load Cell with USB
Option |
| |
FUTEK
Advanced Sensor Technology, Inc. (FUTEK) is offering their Miniature
Column Load Cell with a USB output option. The LCA300 is a Compression
Load Cell built for compact press applications. Similar to FUTEK’s
larger column
load cell models, the LCA300 may be used in press applications but
on a smaller scale where space is limited. Traditionally a Load Cell is
placed in the center of a press and can produce one function depending
on the type of press application. FUTEK has come up with an advanced and
smarter system in order to help users receive full benefit in their
applications. Using multiple Miniature Column Load cells with a USB
output you can monitor each output of the multiple sensors easily and
more effectively. Handling is lighter and much more manageable. It is
also very helpful in batch type press applications producing higher
amounts of output without worrying about a malfunction of your load cell
disrupting your entire output process. The LCA300 Column Load Cell which
is now available with USB Output eliminates several factors such as the
need for an analog amplifier, power supply, and display equipment. The
elimination of those extra factors makes usage easy to use and much more
effective. Measurement is also less affected by noise, temperature
variation or power supply requirement with this simple plug and play
system. With this USB integration you can have the power to monitor the
output of the sensor which ... |

Filling Contents in Tanks - Accurate,
digital, battery powered, waterproof |
| |
Under
the name of Castello, Keller AG has introduced a flexible,
modular system for the accurate indication of the content of a liquid in
a tank. Castello offers a user-friendly way to represent the pressure
measurement at the bottom of a tank as the quantity of remaining liquid.
At the push of a button, the microprocessor performs the calculations
using the information of the tank shape and dimensions and displays the
remaining tank content quantity on the clearly legible 5-digit LED
display in the desired unit (litres, gallons etc.). The easy to use
software to configure Castello is free of charge. It contains the most
current tank shapes. Other tank shapes can be easily integrated at the
factory. The exclusive use of absolute pressure sensors in the Castello
system eliminates the use of capillary vented cables with all the
problems associated with a gauge pressure measurement. The Castello
enclosure integrates an air pressure sensor, ranged between 0,8 bar and
1,3 bar absolute. The sensors to measure the hydrostatic pressure at the
bottom of the tank are calibrated from 0,8 to 1,8 bar abs for tanks up
to 5 m in height, and 0,8 to 2,3 bar abs for tanks up to 10 m in height.
The pressure difference, calculated by the μP, is the relative
hydrostatic pressure. ... |
