Thermal Energy Meter is a transit-time
ultrasonic
flow meter designed to measure the thermal energy flow rate and
totalized energy consumption in liquid heating and cooling applications
including HVAC, office buildings, large condominium or apartment
developments, solar thermal heating and geothermal. Non-intrusive
clamp-on ultrasonic sensor technology makes for easy and economical
installation. The Model 205 Thermal Energy Meter offers high accuracy
(+/-0.5% of reading) enabling custody transfer of thermal energy.
Built-in totalizers and data loggers are used to record daily, monthly
and yearly totalized energy usage and report total energy used. These
functions make it easy to account for energy usage and accurately
allocate costs to end users. A built-in SD card and a supplied
data-analysis and graphing program allows for easy storage and analysis

Configurable Temperature Transmitters |

new FlexTop familiy was presented by Baumer’s product segment
Process Instrumentation at the ACHEMA exhibition. The individually
configurable temperature transmitters of the series 2202, 2203 and 2204
are suitable for the food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical and
biological technologies, chemical and petrochemical industry as well as
for heating, ventilation and air condition applications. The input can
be configured for thermocouples, resistance sensors and voltage signals.
The new FlexTop family replaces the FlexTop 2201. The cost-efficient
temperature transmitters can be configured with different input signals
and have an improved output performance. FlexTop 2202 is a digital
temperature transmitter for a measuring range of -200°C to 850°C. The
input can be set up with a Pt100 resistance thermometer, a resistance
sensor or a potentiometer (each with 0 to 500 Ohm). The accuracy is
better than 0.25°C. For the FlexTop 2203, the input can be a
thermocouple (sensor types B, J, K and S) or a 0…100mV voltage signal.

Electric has been appointed to the position of President & CEO of Custom
Sensors & Technologies (CST), effective July 1, 2009. Eric was
previously in charge of Strategy, Customers, Innovation & Technology for
Schneider Electric. Eric began his career as both a university professor
and researcher and a corporate consultant in the information technology
sector. He joined Schneider Electric subsidiary SES in 1986. Five years
later he was appointed to head SF Gandy in Chalon-sur-Saone (France).
Mr. Pilaud spent 1995 to 1998 in the UK, first as director of
Westinghouse Systems and then of the Automation and Control Division. He
led the “Schneider 2000+” Company program from 1999 to 2000. He was
subsequently responsible for the development of eBusiness within the

pressure sensor GH14D which allows the most precise measurements for
combustion analysis with a sensor of its size. The high performance of
this front sealed mounted sensor is realized by using thermally
optimized piezoelectric elements and the special AVL Double-ShellTM
design which decouples the piezoelectric elements from negative
influences of thermal expansion and other mechanical effects. A version
with a modified membrane structure is available as well which is called
GH14DK. It allows maximum pressures of up to 300 bar. This makes the
