Multicomponent Dynamometer for Forces up
to 10 kN |
| |
New
dynamometer Type 9129AA from Kistler Instrumente AG has an
impressively low overall height of 32 mm and large measuring range of up
to +-10 kN replaces the CompactDyn Type 9254. The cover plate is 95x105
mm in size. The dynamometer is used for measuring the three components
of the resultant force vector and the three components of the resultant
moment vector. The measurement signals of the four integral
force
sensors are taken to the 9-pin flange connector. The special design of
the dynamometer minimizes temperature error. The piezoelectric sensor
system on which this measuring system is based measures the forces with
virtually no displacement. Ground loop problems are largely avoided by
ground isolated mounting of the sensors. Provided cable Type 1687B...
for 3-component force measurement or Type 1677A... for 6-component
force/moment measurement is used, the corrosion-resistant dynamometer is
protected against ingress of fluids to IP67. Together with Kistler
charge amplifier Type 5070A and DynoWare software Type 2825A, this
dynamometer is ideal for general ... |

OMRON takes
temperature control to a
higher level |
| |
|
With built-in logic and data bank functions, the new E5_N-H temperature
controllers from Omron allow, in many applications, complete
control systems to be implemented without the need for additional
devices such as timers, mini-PLCs or intelligent relays. Not only does
this provide cost savings, it also makes the systems easier to design,
build, set up and maintain. Based on the proven design of Omron’s E5_N
products, which have established themselves as the world’s best-selling
temperature controllers, the new E5_N-H controllers add process control
features, including enhanced accuracy, speed and communications options.
E5_N-H controllers are available in three sizes: the 1/16 DIN E5CN-H,
the 1/8 DIN E5EN-H and the 1/4 DIN E5AN-H. Most features are common to
all models, but the larger size of the E5EN-H and E5AN-H allows them to
accommodate a three-line display and to provide additional I/O
terminals. Set up and programming for the advanced features of the new
controllers is easily carried out using Omron’s CX-Thermo software, a
Windows-based package that runs on a PC. This provides full access to
all of the controller’s functions, and even allows libraries of
functions to be built, which can be transferred between controllers as
an aid to rapid configuration. ... |

OMRON puts motion control in the rack |
| |
|
Omron expands it’s motion platform with the new Trajexia motion
controller in PLC format. Ideally suited to OEM applications where
competitive pricing is essential and space for control systems is always
at a premium, the new compact Trajexia CJ1-MCH72 motion controller from
Omron fits directly into a CJ1 PLC rack, thereby providing big space
savings within the control panel as well as significant cost benefits.
With the new controller, which is designed for use with the Omron CJ1
family of PLCs, the need for control panel wiring is greatly reduced,
since communications between the PLC and the motion controller are made
through the backplane. In addition the integration of the CJ1-MCH72 into
the PLC rack means that the PLC and motion controller can directly share
data of all types, thereby enhancing interoperability and simplifying
programming. Motion programming is made even faster and more
straightforward with the Trajexia Studio software package, which is the
new standard platform for all of Omron’s Trajexia motion controllers.
With an improved and intuitive graphical interface, Trajexia Studio
offers advanced functionalities such as multi-device support, off-line
programming, partial downloads and a program compare tool, among other
features. ... |

Sensortechnics Develops Custom
Flow-Through Pressure Transmitters for Different Application
Requirements |
| |
Following
some specific demands from the Medical, Analytical and Industrial
Markets Sensortechnics has developed a new range of
flow-through
pressure transmitters. These are designed for easy inline tube
connection and can measure absolute or gage pressures of a wide range of
liquids. Sensortechnics’ flow-through transmitters feature minimised
internal dead volumes for precise pressure measurement and handling of
very small sample quantities. The wetted sensor parts can be passivated
to provide excellent resistance against aggressive and corrosive liquids
as well as disinfectants. These custom designs offer optimised flow
paths which are also easy to flush and clean. Teflon® coatings to
prevent particulate adhesion and possible blockages are also available.
Additionally, in some designs, the sensor head can be separated from the
sensor to expose the inner flow channels. Special sensor materials with
high thermal resistance ensure compatibility with autoclaving cycles. In
addition to the individual mechanical design, Sensortechnics’
flow-through pressure transmitters can provide many electrical output
signals and termination options. These include current and voltage
outputs, digital bus interfaces or completely customised hardware and
software interfaces. ... |

Strain links – Force measurement made
easy |
| |
Baumer
Electric: DSRT
strain links from Baumer are screwed onto the
surfaces of machines that are under pressure. In these positions they
detect linear strains. Thanks to a calibration of the complete system,
the extension can be converted into a force. Since they only need to be
screwed, strain links are easy to install. Therefore, they provide a
good alternative to strain gauges (S/G) that are glued directly onto the
machine or to
load cells that have to be integrated into the machine.
This particular task often proves to be complicated and cost-intensive.
Using a strain link can save between 40 and 90 minutes, compared to the
glued S/G. The strain link can also be screwed onto the machine again
easily after needing service. The sensor is reliable with small as well
as superimposed strains. The special geometry of the measuring element
transforms the extension mechanically, which results in higher
resolutions. Additionally, the optimized design of the measuring element
allows to decouple bendings and torsions from the linear extension.
Hence, they do not influence the measurement results. Due to an
integrated amplifier, the design of the sensor is very compact. With the
taring function of the amplifier the sensor can be reset at any time.
Strain links are used for easy
force measurements ... |
