Automatic geometry inspection of silicon
ingots |
| |
Micro-Epsilon
has launched a brand new system for the geometrical inspection of ingots
called “dimensionCONTROL 8260 for Ingots”. In just a few minutes, the
system can inspect the surface of the ingots using several
laser optical sensors (line scanners), which automatically measure
the side lengths, phase lengths, angles, diagonal lengths and planarity
of the side areas. The automatic measuring system compares target data
with actual measured values and then classifies the ingot accordingly.
The system calibrates itself automatically to the common ingot sizes of
125mm x 125mm, 156mm x 156mm and 210mm x 210mm. Ingot lengths of up to
2,500mm can be measured. Calibration of each respective ingot is carried
out by using integrated master parts or components. The identification
of any ingot defects is performed either automatically with a marking
unit or manually. The weight of the ingot also plays a key role in
determining the production yield. Therefore, the system can also be
supplied with an integrated
load cell. The sensor system and base plate traverse along the test
item during the measurement process. ... |

Photoelectric Sensors -
Level measurement on standpipes |
| |
Baumer
Electric: User-friendly level measurement? Baumer’s new
level sensors are convincingly easy to handle. They can be mounted
without difficulty on a standpipe or a tube using the included cable
tie. The diameter of the (half) transparent standpipe on which the
sensor can be mounted can vary from 3 to 13 mm. Once they have been
secured, no further adjustments have to be made on the FFDK 16 as all
required circuitry is built in. However, a switch for dark or light
switching (D/L) is in place. In the optical fiber version, the fibers
are arranged in rows. This allows the sensor to suppress foam or air
bubbles of up to 3 mm in size. Foam especially emerges often, and so far
it has led to many measurement errors with
optical
level measurement systems. Thanks to the PFI material used, the
sensor is also resistant to chemicals. Another advantage of the optical
fiber version ... |

measurement tasks |
| |
Micro-Epsilon’s
range of compact profile scanners has been expanded with the new
scanCONTROL 2710 sensor. This sensor series has an extremely compact
housing with integrated controller. The scanCONTROL 2710 provides a
complete solution for simple measurement tasks. Angles, steps and
positions can be recognized and tracked. The same is also possible for
profiles, including adhesive beads, weld seams, grooves and gaps. After
the sensor has been configured using the set-up software supplied as

Use DaqPRO to Monitor Fireworks' Quality |
| |
|
Fourier: The discovery of fireworks, in fact the formula for
gunpowder, is commonly believed to have happened by chance in China
2,000 years ago. Three common kitchen ingredients were heated over a
fire and when dried and burned gave a loud bang. Inserting this into a
bamboo stick led to early fire crackers. Today the field of pyrotechnics
is developing rapidly and China is recognized as the number one producer
of quality fireworks, in terms of technology. There is a huge market in
China, since fireworks play a crucial role in ritual and festivities,
but also as a major exporter. One leader in the Chinese fireworks
industry, recently had their products tested with the DaqPRO solution by
the China National Key Laboratory for pyrotechnic testing. This official
body is situated in Hunan province and plays a key role in defining
national safety standards in manufacture, acceptance checks, sales,
transportation, storage and launching of fireworks. To ensure safer and
more environmentally-friendly offerings and meet safety regulations both
at home and abroad, the company takes quality inspection very seriously.
They were looking for a solution that would maintain their product's
high quality reputation. They considered the DaqPRO to be the answer.
The independent data acquisition solution could stand alone in extreme
testing conditions and allowed for the measurement of very high
temperatures via the type T
thermocouple sensor which can measure up to 400 degrees centigrade.
One or more heat flux sensors are ... |

80V-High Voltage Op-Amp PR2201 / PR2202 |
| |
The
new PREMA high voltage operational amplifier PR2201 for supply
voltages of up to 80V single supply or up to ±40V with a maximum output
current of ±6mA is now available. The common mode input voltage covers
nearly the complete supply voltage range with an excellent common mode
and power supply rejection ratio of typical more than 110dB. The output
voltage can approximate the positive or negative supply voltage close to
1V. Precision applications, for example in automatic test environments,
can be covered with the PR2201 due to a very low typical input bias
current of 5pA and an input offset voltage of typical ±2mV, which can be
further reduced by external trimming (only PR2201). The temperature
increase of the component remains small in spite of the high voltages
due to the low quiescent current of only 500µA. Also fast control
circuits may be designed with this PR2201 due to the gain bandwidth
product of up to 1MHz and a slew rate ... |
