SENSOR+TEST 2009, The Entire Sensor,
Measuring and Testing Technology at a Glance |
| |
AMA
Association for Sensor Technology: The 16th International Trade Fair
for Sensor, Measuring, and Testing Technology will be held from 26 to 28
May on the fair grounds in Nürnberg. This worldwide biggest event in the
sensor industry, complemented by numerous conferences and forums, is
expected to be attended by 550 exhibitors, including the major
technology and market leaders of most product groups. This press release
is to provide a taste of the expected novelties and current trends
announced by the exhibitors. Economic Significance: Sensor, measuring,
and testing technologies in an automated world are decisive key
technologies for economic success in all industries. This applies not
only to machine and plant construction, life sciences, vehicle
production, or the aerospace industry, but for practically all branches
of industry. Even banks, insurance companies, or other institutions
require sensors in the air conditioning for their customers and servers
as well as for their security systems. Projections show that there are
about 800 manufacturers of industrial measuring systems in Germany.
Together with exclusive importers of sensor products they have a
turnover of approximately 24 billion euros per year. Moreover, about
2,300 companies and institutes operate in the area of sensor technology.
All in all they have about 2,300 employees, who generate revenues ... |

SENSOR+TEST 2009 – The Measurement Fair,
Attractive Programme for All Three Days of the Trade Fair |
| |
AMA
Association for Sensor Technology: The SENSOR+TEST measurement fair
will be held in Nürnberg from 26 to 28 May 2009. Beyond the innovations
shown in the exhibition halls, an attractive agenda with a number of
international conferences and a comprehensive action programme are
provided for the visitors. For the first time, the individual
conferences will be consolidated this year under the overall SENSOR+TEST
Conference 2009. “Despite the tense economic climate, the available
floor space in the exhibition halls is nearly booked up,” says Holger
Bödeker, Managing Director of AMA Service, the organisers. From the
present perspective, the organisers forecast that last year’s figures of
about 550 exhibitors and almost 20,000 m² of floor space will again be
attained. This year, the trade fair will be held for the first time in
Halls 11 and 12 with the integrated Conference Centre West on the
Nürnberg Exhibition grounds. Following the tried and proven SENSOR+TEST
concept, numerous events will be held parallel to the regular programme
on all three days of the fair to fully provide the visitor with relevant
information. Besides the SENSOR+TEST Conference, the Action Area in Hall
11 as well as the adjoining open-air grounds will certainly count among
the highlights of the fair. ... |

Sensortechnics Develops Custom
Flow-Through Pressure Transmitters for Different Application
Requirements |
| |
Following
some specific demands from the Medical, Analytical and Industrial
Markets Sensortechnics has developed a new range of
flow-through
pressure transmitters. These are designed for easy inline tube
connection and can measure absolute or gage pressures of a wide range of
liquids. Sensortechnics’ flow-through transmitters feature minimised
internal dead volumes for precise pressure measurement and handling of
very small sample quantities. The wetted sensor parts can be passivated
to provide excellent resistance against aggressive and corrosive liquids
as well as disinfectants. These custom designs offer optimised flow
paths which are also easy to flush and clean. Teflon® coatings to
prevent particulate adhesion and possible blockages are also available.
Additionally, in some designs, the sensor head can be separated from the
sensor to expose the inner flow channels. Special sensor materials with
high thermal resistance ensure compatibility with autoclaving cycles. In
addition to the individual mechanical design, Sensortechnics’
flow-through pressure transmitters can provide many electrical output
signals and termination options. These include current and voltage
outputs, digital bus interfaces or completely customised hardware and
software interfaces. ... |

New TROGAMID® Liquid Level Switches
Feature Very High Chemical Resistance |
| |
Sensortechnics
introduces the new OLT
liquid level switches for cost-effective
optical
point level detection. These sensors feature very high chemical
resistance due to their TROGAMID® miniature plastic housings making them
suitable for a wide range of medical and industrial OEM applications.
The OLT series can be used with many liquids which are not compatible
with conventional polysulphone housings such as fuel, halogenated
hydrocarbons (e.g. chloroform), methanol, acetone and ethyl acetate.
Furthermore, TROGAMID® can also be used in direct contact with food and
drinking water. The optical OLT switches use solid state technology with
no moving parts to measure accurately and reliably the presence or
absence of liquid in tanks, reservoirs and pipes. The product range
includes basic devices with analog phototransistor outputs, switches
with microprocessor compatible TTL signals, or high power devices with
transistor outputs for switching currents up to 500 mA. With their
miniature threaded housings the OLT sensors are easy to install and
consume little space. Additionally, Sensortechnics can easily modify or
customise these products to fit special customer requirements. ... |
