digital
manometer to handle demanding monitoring tasks in the plant and
machinery manufacturing sector. In the compensated temperature range
from 0...50 °C, this microprocessor-controlled instrument records two
measured values per second with typical overall accuracy of 0,1 %FS. The
dual digital display updates twice every second, showing the measured
value and the minimum or maximum value attained. Two ergonomically
positioned keys give the operator reliable access to the
microprocessor-based functionality of the LEO type manometer. As well as
a choice of five different units of measurement, the user-friendly
two-key operating system provides access to the entire range of
functions: the stored MAX/MIN can be erased and reset to zero, or the

optical distance sensors to
include additional affordable variants. The previously presented ODSL 8
with teach-in function in a format of just 38 x 48 x 15 mm is now also
available with a resolution of 0.03 mm and a measurement range of 25 to
45 mm. Alongside its high resolution, a repeat accuracy of 0.2 % is
fundamental to its object measurement precision. Equipped with an
analogue current or voltage output, the ODSL 8 offers scope for simple
link-up to different evaluation units and control systems. The sensor is
also fitted with two push-pull switching outputs for precise object
recognition. A user-friendly rotary switch at the device permits simple
teach-in of the analogue output operating range of 1-10 V or 4-20 mA,
and also of the switching outputs. With its small light spot of just 1
mm, this sensor option also delivers precise measurements of small

 Machine
designers have been presented with a significant new technology for
measuring power in drive shafts and other rotating machine elements,
following the launch of the RWT310/320 series of TorqSense
Rotary Torque
Sensors by developers Sensor Technology Ltd. Unlike traditional
slip ring transducers, the RWT units make use of a simple non-contact
measurement technique of a radio frequency (RF) couple for power and
signal communication. This means that the units are mechanically
straightforward and as such they stand to completely redefine the
expectations of machine builders and control engineers, who to date have
had to put considerable time and expense into obtaining the accurate
torque readings essential for accurate machine control and production
monitoring. They feature integral electronics with outputs for torque,
speed, power and angle. The RWT310 provides analog outputs and the
RWT320 both analog and digital outputs, which are directly compatible
with PC Interfaces such as serial and USB, being user programmable for
signal levels. Other innovative features include built-in peak torque

Advanced Sensor Technology, Inc. has just added the TFF
Reaction
Torque Sensor to their USB Sensor Solution Line. The new module with USB
output eliminates the need for an analog amplifier, power supply, and
display equipment making usage that much easier. The plug and play gives
you power to monitor the output of the sensor and enjoy measurement and
are less affected by noise, temperature variation or power supply
requirement. The USB integration also includes FUTEK’s USB Software
which allows users to monitor the output of the Sensor in real time.
This particular model is available in Aluminum construction and features
a built-in Overload Protection up to 400 in-oz. The standard TFF425
Reaction Torque Sensor can be modified or customized to meet your
requirements. As with FUTEK’s
Torque Sensor Series, the TFF425 is
manufactured in the U.S. and uses metal foil
strain gauge technology.
This
Flange to Flange Reaction Torque Sensor can accommodate certain
applications that include automotive braking, engine and transmission
dynamometers, torque table, fastener testing, aircraft engine testing,
and marine
shaft torque measurements with shaft horsepower monitors. The
TFF425 offers a unique solution for torque auditing applications and can
be used to evaluate low-torque components and controls.

New High-Temperature Sensor Type 6056AU20 |

 Kistler:
Measurement of cylinder pressure, for example using glow plug adapters,
has made the development of economical high-torque diesel engines
possible for the first time. Sensor development has been also been
ongoing to keep pace with the higher pressures in these engines. One
sensor that meets the requirements of temperature and pressure up to 300
bar is the 6056AU20. It therefore supplements the basic Type 6056A...,
whose design catering for pressures up to 250 bar already covers many
applications. The
high-temperature sensor for
cylinder pressure
measurement in a glow plug adapter is now also available with a
reinforced diaphragm. The new sensor Type 6056AU20 has been added to the
existing basic Type 6056A... for use in the glow plug adapter. The new
sensor was developed especially for high pressure rise rates or very
high peak pressures. Type 6056AU20 is therefore recommended for
applications in which the pressure exceeds 200 bar and in which extreme
