The feeding of special gases such as nitrous oxide, xenon, carbon
monoxide etc., is of increasing importance in patient ventilation and
anaesthesia. As a consequence, it is increasingly necessary to be able
to measure smaller and smaller gas-streams precisely and reliably. With
the SFM4100, custom-tailored for integration into anaesthetic equipment,
Sensirion AG is responding to this trend in ventilation therapy. The
SFM4100 precision flow meter for air and other non-aggressive gases has
an impressively wide dynamic measuring range up to 20 slm. The sensor
unit has an I2C interface, provides a fully calibrated and
temperature-compensated output signal, and operates reliably at
pressures of up to 7 bar. Its outstanding long-term stability and
freedom from drift make the new SFM4100 first choice for products that
require a high rate of deployment with long service intervals. Using the
‘Multigas’ feature provided, calibrations for various different gases

short-term availability of fully functional sensors for functional

3 V Supply Versions for Battery Powered Applications |

GmbH’ HDI sensors measure absolute, differential or gage pressures
in various ranges from 10 mbar up to 5 bar. The HDI series features 3 V
supply versions which are ideally suitable for battery powered
applications, e.g. in portable or handheld devices. HDI pressure sensors
perform precision digital signal conditioning and achieve ultra high
accuracies with an excellent Total Error Band (TEB) better than ±0.5 %FSS
over a temperature range of 0…+85 °C. The HDI series provides digital
interfaces with I²C bus protocol and analog 0.5 … 4.5 V output signals
at the same time therefore allowing customers to build up a redundancy
functionality for safety critical applications. The sensors are intended
to be used with air and non-corrosive gases and offer various
unidirectional, bidirectional or barometric calibrations as well as

Technology offers the Series LSU61X short stroke precision LVDT,
ideally suited for applications where dynamic measurement is needed but
space is limited. This DC/DC
displacement sensor operates from
unregulated power supplies of +24 Vdc to +40 Vdc or dual ±12 Vdc to ±20
Vdc. Model LSU61X utilizes an internal amplifier to generate a ±5 Vdc
output signal and the internal electronics include a filter circuit. The
armature covers a stroke from ±0.10 to ±0.40 inches and is loose-fit
(unguided) in the bore of the LVDT. Precise alignment along the bore
produces a frictionless movement and long sensor life. ±0.5% linearity

module. The 2470 combines the universal flexibility of the widely
popular 2460 and the higher performance abilities of the 2440 into one
low cost module. This makes the 2470 user friendly and suitable for a
diverse range of applications, but also ideal for projects that demand
precision over a large spectrum of conditions. The 2470 module is
tailored for zero to medium frequency instrumentation applications with
a rugged anodized aluminum case and three orthogonally mounted model
1221L
accelerometers. The 2470 responds to DC and AC acceleration,
operates from -55 to +110°C, with ranges available from ± 2 to ± 200 g

 Water
treatment applications place high demands on pressure and level
measuring instruments. For these applications, Baumer offers
robust sensors suitable for high vibrations as well as for the
use with aggressive media. For example, sensors made of
seawater-resistant Hastelloy C and with a ceramic sensing element are
available for desalination plants. Flush mount versions are offered for
sewage applications. The devices can be easily configured on PC via the
FlexProgrammer 9701. Pressure and level measuring devices for water
treatment applications have to be extremely robust. First of all, this
concerns the materials used in instruments that are in contact with
aggressive or corrosive media in applications such as desalination
plants or sewage sludge processing. In addition, the devices have to be

Advanced Sensor Technology is proud to now offer their model LLB400,
a Miniature Load Button Load Cell with improved overall accuracy. The
load cell has a high accuracy with a deflection of 0.0015” nominal
and an operating temperature of -60° F to 200° F. As an extra feature,
this model may also be offered with a USB output option. FUTEK’s
Engineering team have once again joined together to further enhance one
of the Load Buttons offered in their Miniature Load Cell line. In order
to better serve FUTEK customers, a consistent process is used to provide
the best Sensor Solutions. Because FUTEK’s Quality Culture is
continuously implemented into every process to further improve and
innovate products the Engineering Team saw an opportunity for
enhancements on the LLB400 and with this process were able to
significantly improve the accuracy of this model. Model LLB400 now has
an increased nonlinearity of +/-0.15% from +/-0.5%. With this
improvement not only is the sensor more accurate but nonrepeatability
has also improved from +/-0.1% to +/-0.05% on model capacities ranging
